Congrats & Best Wishes – Sandra Godinho – Class of ’84

Wednesday, December 31st, 2008

Sandra GodinhoHi All,

I am delighted to join everyone in wishing St Therese’s the very best on this special occasion. It was an absolute joy to see familiar faces and reminesce school days.

Having achieved Fellowship of the Royal college of Dental Surgeons, London, I am now practising in Liverpool, UK. It was wonderful to show my children Kenton (7) and Kimberley (5) pictures of my school and old class pictures.

I will always have fond memories of my teachers at St Therese’s and school mates and take this opportunity to wish this great Institution glorious years ahead.

Some of you may wonder what is it with the title of this post. But for those who had read my earlier one – the answer would be obvious.

It is not often that that one gets to commemorate a silver jubilee & golden jubilee celebration in the same year. And I can proudly say the Batch of 83 happened to be the lucky ones. (more…)

Truly Home – by Valerie Vales – Class of 1999

Saturday, December 27th, 2008

Valerie ValesThe place I have known as Home away from Home:

It has not been so long ago that I passed out from school and perhaps that’s why I still miss it so much or may be knowing that my mother and sisters also studied there gave me a sense of comfort. Every time I think back about my school days it gives me a feeling of being high and elated and I cant stop help that smile that flashes from ear to ear :). It wasn’t only a place where I got my academic training but it was also a place where I could showcase all my talents be it singing, sport, acting, dancing and sometimes even the naughtier side Geeeee! 🙂

To be a back bencher was so much fun especially if your class was located opposite the convent kitchen cause by 12.00 (more…)

Fond Memories – by Jeethi Suvarna – Class of 1980‏

Saturday, December 27th, 2008

Jeethi SuvarnaHi friends,

I have very fond memories of my school: the formidable structure, its huge playground, the trees surrounding it and of course my teachers and classmates. I have over the years, kept in touch with many of my friends and classmates – Pushpa Menon, Kiran Navelkar, Rosy Dourado, Sheila Fernandes, Mayrose Mannuel and now, thanks to this wonderful website, have managed to reconnect with Priya Correa Afonso, Rocky, Corodine, Rita Dey and still remember Reema, Atula and Suzette to name a few.

Will definitely be there on the 28th and am so looking forward to meeting everybody including classmates and friends on behalf of my sister who unfortunately wont be able to make it. (more…)

Congratulations St. Therese’s – Conrad J. Walker – Class of 1973

Wednesday, December 24th, 2008

Conrad WalkerHi Teacher’s, Staff and School Mates,

My name is Conrad Walker (Class of 1973) and I would like to congratulate St Theresa’s on it’s 50th anniversary of service to the community.

It has been a great journey down memory lane, going through all the photographs and letters on the excellent website. My only regret is that, I will not be able to make it for the re-union on the 28 Dec. 2008. I will take this opportunity to sincerely thank all my Teachers over the years from the "Down School" (Vaddem) to the "Up School" (Mangor) especially Sr. Columba, Sr. Michael, Mrs. Seshadri, Ms. Gupta (Late) and Mr Menon, that gave us the foundation to lead successful lives. Sharel D'SouzaHi Everybody,

This is Sharel from Class of 1996, and presently working in the Gulf (Kuwait). I’m pictured here alongside my husband Menino, and my son Osbourne.

I was filled with nostalgia going through this site referred to me, by one of my friends. I am very happy to see such a long and prosperous chain of St. Therese’s output. Wonderful St. Therese’s – Arleine D’Souza e Rodrigues – Class of 1982

Monday, December 22nd, 2008

Arleine D'SouzaHi friends,

This is Arleine (known as Arlene) D’Souza from the memorable batch of 1982. I’m really excited about the upcoming reunion since I will be meeting some long-forgotten faces. My sister Vilhena (UK) told me that under no circumstances would she miss this occasion. Like our school days, I wish attendance was as compulsory so that we could see everyone – those that aren’t coming have no idea about what they are missing on. Luckily my parents (Dr. Galdino and Dr. Juvina) live in Vasco and so I get to see the school when I pass Mangor. My husband Dr. Antonio Rodrigues who is a general physician and cardiologist practices in Margao and my kids Anushka (Chowgules XI Science) and (more…)

A Magnificent School – by Mita (Dey) Korgaonker – Class of 1979

Sunday, December 21st, 2008

Mita Dey KorgaonkerHi All,

Many of you might remember the two Dey sisters – Rita and Mita – who joined St. Therese’s in the ’70’s. Well, I graduated Class of 1979, along with Marian, Anakarina, Rahila, Lalita, Joyce, Rati, Judy, Annette, Rocky and so many others on this beautiful website – and my younger sister Rita graduated the following year, Class of 1980. Both of us are happily married and settled in Goa. My daughter Nikita and son Karan, are pictured here alongside my husband Arvind and myself.

I have lots to say about our magnificent school, a few lines of which I am penning here. St. Therese’s High school has made me what I am today. The teachers have taught me to hold my (more…)
